I was thinking about a quote I recently discovered. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”.Basically meaning that if you don’t have something that you live for, you’ll succumb to anything that comes your way. Which arouses a good question; what do you stand for? For me and my faith, I stand for Jesus. If you have that strong foundation and discernment to know what is right and wrong, you won’t fall into the patterns of this world. Which brings up a verse.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.
This led me into thinking about quotes, and my favorite quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Be the change. That’s just it!I’ve been seeking change in CRU but I wasn’t going about it the right way. I must be the change. I have to be the one who initiates conversation. I find them awkward ? Yeah well maybe they find me awkward too. I’ve got to get out of my comfort zone in order to change things. I just had this inner realization now and the change has to start with me. Change initiated as of now. Consider it changed(:

A conversation I had with my dad…

” Is there a midnight premiere?” -me

“I don’t know but I’m not going at midnight”-dad

“Why wouldn’t you go?”-me

“I will go at a normal time when normal people watch movies.”

“Normal people watch movies at midnight.”

“No, those are not normal, those are freaks.”

hahahahahhahaha

my dad’s mentality.

I am not an American but I agree with this. This is very well said and expressed. I think more Christians who live in the United States should think more like this. You cannot hold non-believers to Biblical standards.
Imagine if whatever country you lived in was predominantly Muslim or Islam and were holding you, a Christian who is living in sin through their eyes, to their standards. What if, because you weren’t of the same religious belief as them, your freedoms and rights were extremely limited and almost nonexistent. How would you feel? Wouldn’t you think that you deserve equal rights as everyone else? State and Church should be separated because if not, it encroaches on the right to freedom of religion.
God wants you to shine your light and to glorify Him so that others may see Him in you, but I don’t think He would want you to shove it down people’s throats. A non-believer is still a human, and shouldn’t be treated any less because of their disbelief.
